GoGrid and IBM have collaborated to bring IBM's latest database offerings to GoGrid users.

IBM DB2® Express and Workgroup on GoGrid offer users a fully configured and deployment-ready solution for all their database needs. DB2 supports key development platforms including C/C++, Java, .Net, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, etc., and is well suited for a variety of Web, Web 2.0, transactional, analytical, ERP, and other business applications.

These IBM DB2 images incorporate Fix Pack 4 running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6. These images can be set up via simple to use web-based PHP modules which are accessible via secure HTTP after the DB2 image has finished launching. A sequence of interactive configuration web-based modules will help the user setup their DB2 environment in a few quick steps:

  • Acceptance of license agreements
  • 'Unlocking' SSH access to the image (for security)
  • DB2 instance setup, creation, and running
  • DB2 database creation
  • Clean-up of image
